Scheme of Work
Four areas: hundreds of activities to integrate into the curriculum for healthy learning
Healthy Movement – Healthy Eating – Healthy Habits – Healthy Thoughts
We introduce short, simple activities for each year group in a progressive Scheme of Work. Learning objectives are set for each year group – for a Health Curriculum – and activity ideas are provided to support the physical and mental wellbeing of the children in your school. The Schemes introduce each area with a full explanation of what it means for a child in Primary school to demonstrate good choices for ‘Healthy Movement’, ‘Healthy Eating’, ‘Healthy Habits’ and ‘Healthy Thoughts’. Session plans for a ‘Children’s Health Club’ for are included for EYFS, Years 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6, with 6-8 sessions per club. This will provide teachers with a resource and source of reliable information, which can guide their continued teaching of a Health Curriculum once workshops have finished. It is advised that a member of Staff – a Health Ambassador – attends the 2-day training course to receive the Scheme of Work, and learn about each of the four areas in depth, with ideas that will complement whole school improvement and design and delivery of a challenging curriculum.
